Obituary

Charlene Elizabeth Brewster Horton, age 90, of Mansfield, Ohio, formerly of Morehead, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017, at OhioHealth Hospital in Mansfield. Born October 3, 1926, in Soldier, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Anna Dee Conn Brewster. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wheeler Horton; infant daughter, Margaret Ann Hanshaw; five brothers, John, James Morton, Chester Norton, Melvin and Wilford (Slick) Brewster, and six sisters, Geneva Cox, Fern Fultz, Ellen Gee, Clara Davis Hamm, Virginia Blanche Tackett and Mae Haywood. Charlene is survived by one son, Earl Hanshaw and Nilda Matos of Bronx, New York; one step daughter, Barbara Stubbs of Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, Willard Brewster of Crestline, Ohio; three grandchildren, Roberta, Jack and Leslie; and four great grandchildren, Codie, Cahlah, Shelbie, and Dakota. Charlene retired from Perfection Manufacturing Company in Mansfield, Ohio. She was a member of the East End Church of God in Morehead and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ray Glover and Bro. Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mabry Cemetery on U.S. 60 East. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
