Chadwick Lee "Chad" Sparks, age 49, of Little Perry Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born August 10, 1969, in Ashland and is the son of Harry and Tina Kay Hatton Sparks of Morehead. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Tyra Jade and husband Ben Meadows and Leanna Jordan Sparks, all of Morehead; two grandsons, Gabrien and Isaiah Meadows; one niece, Destini M'Shay Sparks of Mt. Sterling; a special friend, Vickie Harper of West Liberty; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chad was a 1987 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany. He was a welder by trade and had worked in telecommunications in several states as a foreman. Having a strong work ethic and being passionate about his work, he was promoted from foreman to project manager. Chad liked to joke around and never had a serious moment. He enjoyed listening to, playing, and writing heavy metal music, Muskie fishing, watching NASCAR, and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Aaron Sparks, on April 18, 2008, and the mother of his children, Lisa Ann Watson Sparks, on July 6, 2004. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Ron Clatos and Brother Rex Sagraves officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery on U.S. 60 East with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers will be Shawn Hatton, Mike Hatton, Nathan Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Rick Hatton, and Jason Bays. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Jordan, Ben Meadows, Tony Kronmueller, Mike Lewis, Mike Patrick, Wes Stephens, Robert Keeton, and Wayne Cox.
