Cecil Trent, age 84, of Hillcrest Avenue, Morehead, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. He was born March 1, 1932, at Elliottville, a son of the late Harrison and Gladys Howard Trent. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Jean Trent Stewart and Elizabeth Trent Holloway; two brothers, Omer Trent and Hobert Trent; and an infant daughter, Sheryl Ann Trent. Cecil is survived by his wife, Kathy Johnson Trent; one daughter, Cathy Conn and husband Gerald of Morehead; two brothers, Wales Trent and wife Thelma of Morehead and Harrison Trent, Jr., of Wayne, Michigan; two sisters, Gertrude Trent of Clearfield and Shirley Faye Ramey and husband Orbie of Morehead, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Cecil served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55. He worked at Lee Clay Products Company for 18 years and was a former employee of the Ford Motor Company in Michigan, Mountain Enterprises, and the Army National Guard. Cecil was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God since 1997. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God with the Rev. Cecil Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Clearfield Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Pallbearers: Jerry Lewis, Charlie Henderson, Danny Reynolds, Kenny Dean Hall, Travis Jolley, Dale Craft, Brett Buelterman, and Brian Buelterman. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers of the church. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
