Obituary

Cecil Monroe Hardin, age 87, of Morehead Road, Wallingford, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015. Born September 7, 1927, in Clearfield, he was a son of the late Willie Hardin and Myrtle Gregory Hardin McDaniels. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, August Hardin; one sister, Lexie Hardin; two grandsons, Bryan Crowe and Tony Hardin; one great granddaughter, Hope Wilson; and a granddaughter whom he raised as a daughter, Traci Hardin Jolley Swartz. Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lucille Pompili Hardin, whom he married July 17, 1948; three children, Ronald Hardin of Wallingford, Paula Crowe of Lexington, and Lexie Dunford of Flatwoods; one brother, Orville Martin of Middletown, Ohio; six grandchildren, Vikki, Cecil, Ron, Bradley, Lanna, and Tracy; 20 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Cecil served in the U. S. Army Air Corps and was a retired pipefitter for Armco Steel in Middletown, Ohio. He was an avid U.K. fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. Cecil's family was his greatest enjoyment as he loved sharing life experiences with children and grandchildren. He will be sorely missed and loving remembered by family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Flemingsburg. The Rev. John J. Michniuk will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass. Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead is caring for funeral arrangements.
