Cassie Watkins Fugett Crose, 89 years 6 months and 10 days old, formerly of Blaze, Kentucky, and Jamestown, Ohio, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the Briarfield Nursing Home in Mineral Ridge, Ohio. She was born February 1, 1922, in Morgan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Sam and Dona Wilson Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Norman Fugett and Wilburn Crose; two brothers, James Watkins and Ray Watkins; five sisters, Ora Sargent, Bessie VanDyke, Geneva Howard, Clarsie Estes, and Myrtle Severence; and one son-in-law, Joe Callihan. Mrs. Crose is survived by three daughters, Norma Jean Adams and husband Lawrence of New Carlisle, Ohio, Barbara Ann Callihan of Niles, Ohio, and Sandra Jo Ferguson and husband Barry of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two sons, William Darrell Fugett and wife Pauline of West Liberty, Kentucky, and Dwayne Preston Fugett and wife Janice of Washington Court House, Ohio; two brothers, Farmer Watkins and Willard Watkins, both of Dayton, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Watkins was of the Pentecostal Faith and had been a Christian since she was a teenager. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eugene Haney and Rev. J. B. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons William Fugett, Jr., Rodney Fugett, Timothy Adams, Darren Fugett, Norman Fugett, Preston Fugett, Brent Ferguson, and Richie Ferguson.
