Cassandra Marie 'Cassie' Owens, 21, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at her residence. Cassie was born July 21, 1991, in Gallipolis, Ohio, a daughter of Christopher 'Chris' Owens and his wife Leah-ann of Morehead, Kentucky, and Melody York of Cole Grove, Ohio. She is also survived by her beloved daughter, Madison Ruth Shay of Morehead, Kentucky; two brothers, Matthew and Jonathan Owens, both of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Desirae Swain of Crown City, Ohio; grandparents, Phillip and Beverly Owens of Morehead, Kentucky; one uncle, Alan Owens and his wife Tammy of Morehead, Kentucky, extended family members and many friends. Cassie was a 2009 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and was a student at Morehead State University. She was a devoted and loving mother to Madison, the love of her life. Cassie also enjoyed music and hanging out with friends. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary McQuain officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
