Carrie Keafer Raifsnider, age 77, of Devin Road, Preston, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was born October 22, 1934, in Addison, Ohio, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Hilda Keafer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny and James Raifsnider. Carrie is survived by her husband, Ronald Sortwell; five daughters, Verna Mitchell and Joann Squatrito, both of Manchester, Ohio, Thresa Raifsnider of Covington, Kentucky, and Carol McGehee and Terry Raifsnider, both of Texas; three sons, Henry Creech of Oklahoma, Eddie Raifsnider of Missouri, and Larry Raifsnider of Mississippi; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Brown Cemetery with the Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronald Sortwell, James Franklin Raifsnider, Shawn Lee Raifsnider, Eddie Robinson, Brandon Randolph, and Andy Dailey.
