Carolyn Sue Sparks Barker, age 70, of Fyrl Street, Clearfield, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020, at her residence.

Born September 14, 1949, in Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Lillian Adkins Sparks.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, David R. Barker who died June 29, 2012, and a sister, Donna Jordan.

Carolyn is survived by three sons, Randy (Jennifer) Leadingham Barker of Olympia, Brian Barker, and Timothy (Shazana) Barker, all of Clearfield; one daughter, Kimberly (Elwood) Hamilton of Clearfield, Kentucky; one step son, Paul (Amanda) Barker of Olive Hill; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Other survivors include five brothers, Jerry (Becky) Sparks of Ashland, Wayne (Kim) Sparks of Grayson, Timmy Sparks, Ronnie Sparks, Keith Sparks, all of Cannonsburg; three sisters, Wanda (Ronnie) Branham of Grayson, Mary (Frank) Collins of Ashland, and Kay (Joe) Leggett of Cannonsburg; lifelong friend, Dreama Arthur of Ashland; several nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Carolyn retired after 17 years as an Environmental Service Assistant at St. Claire HealthCare.  She enjoyed the outside working in her flowers, fishing, and camping. Most of all, Carolyn loved her children and grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. She was a member of Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be C. D. Leadingham, Randy Leadingham, Chris Branham, Timmy Sparks, Zach Hamilton, Travis Hamilton, Timmy Robinson, Ronnie Sparks, and Elwood Hamilton.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

COVID-19 regulations will be observed.
