Carol June Rigdon Walker Hosier, age 75, of Helterbrand Road, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2020, at her home.
Born December 22, 1944, in Hillsboro, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruby Thomas Rigdon. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd "Bob" Walker, and second husband, James "Jim" Hosier; one great grandson, Karamu Thornton; and four siblings, Frank "Bill" Rigdon, Johnny Rigdon, Lonnie Rigdon (and Bonnie) and Ilene Young (and Raymond).
Carol is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Rae Dickson (Dale) of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Dawn (Joe) Beamon Walker of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; three stepchildren, James "Zeke" Hosier (Kimberly) of Morehead, Suzette Way (Kevin) of Pittsford, Michigan, and Holly Carpenter (Jim) of Hillsdale, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind Todd and Teresa Plank and Sam and Debbie Copher, whom she loved as children.
Other survivors include two sisters, Monnie Elter (Ronald) and Wilma Smalley (Richard) of Wallingford; two brothers, Marion Rigdon and Douglass Rigdon (Patricia) of Hillsboro; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Rigdon and Sharon Rigdon, as well as nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Carol loved God, first and foremost, and dearly loved her family and close friends. She enjoyed the outdoors, tending her flowers, and traveling. One of her greatest joys was to FaceTime with family. She was a member of Sharkey Free Will Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Sharkey Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Harley Sexton, Jr., and Pastor Elijah Sexton officiating. At Carol's request, her ashes will be laid to rest in the Newman Cemetery in Hillsboro at a later date.
