Carol Ann Brierty, 65, of Morehead, passed away March 14, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after a serious illness. Born January 19, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, Carol was a devoted daughter to her parents, Ambrose and Victoria Brierty, who preceded her in death. An only child, Carol leaves cousins and many dear friends, including a friend since college, Nancy North and her family of Evergreen Park, Illinois. Carol earned her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Loyola University in Chicago in 1975 and a Master of Science in Library Science from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She moved to Morehead in 1989 to work as the automation librarian at Morehead State University. Carol loved Morehead and chose to stay in Morehead, even after she retired in 2006. Her main hobby was reading, not only reading for pleasure but also to continue serious study of history, science, and religion.
