Carl Edward 'Dugan' Brown, age 76, of Jones Ridge, Clearfield, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born April 5, 1937, in Rowan County, a son of the late Lastie and Lela Pearl Wallace Brown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Shirley June Brown Walton; one son, Dwayne Allen Brown; one daughter, Anna M. Plummer; one great granddaughter, Nevaeh June Little; and two sisters, Lottie M. Brannon and Leisa L. Hardin. Dugan is survived by three sons, James E. Brown and wife Pearl of Clearfield, Timothy L. Brown of Clearfield, Donald L. Brown of Sandy Hook; two daughters, Tammy J. Jennings and husband David of Morehead and Linda G. Parker of Morehead; one brother, Kenneth Ray Brown of Morehead; one sister, Ola Faye Sargent of Morehead; 27 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; other family members; and friends. Dugan was a sawmill worker, logger, and farmer. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch and visiting with everyone, especially his grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carlos Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowman Cemetery on Jones Ridge. Pallbearers: James E. Brown, Timothy L. Brown, Joseph Dale Crawford, Gary Bowman, McKee Lewis, and Stephen Hester.
