Carl Daymon Carter, age 64, of Stark Ridge in Elliott County, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born April 14, 1945, in Elliott County, Kentucky, son of the late Johnie and Martha Roe Carter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Lee Carter, in 1941. Carl is survived by his wife, Joan Conn Carter; two sons, Lowell Thomas Carter and James Paul Carter, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Skaggs of Olive Hill, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Brett Carter, Tina Gilliam, Tonya Garris, Kourtney Carter and Zachary Carter; and two great grandchildren, Brooklyn Garris and Carter Daymon Gilliam. Also surviving are three brothers, Garlan Carter of Alliance, Ohio, Burl Kenneth Carter and Gary Carter, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and four sisters, Janice Wagoner of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Glenda Leadingham of Morehead, Kentucky, Agatha Robin Ross and Audrey Joy Goodpaster, both of Winchester, Kentucky. Carl was a farmer and horse trainer. He was saved, baptized and attended the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Louie Harris, Rev. Austin Carter, and Rev. Elijah Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in the John Carter Cemetery in Elliott County. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Goodpaster, Jack Ross, Talmadge Wagoner, Brett Carter, Josh Gilliam, and David Garris. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Saturday, August 1, 2009, after 4 p.m. Funeral: Sunday, August 2, 2009, at 2 p.m. Interment: John Carter Cemetery, Elliott County
