Calvin Ray Wells, age 73, of Blue Hall Road, Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at his residence. He was born December 13, 1941, in Rowan County, a son of the late Minnie Arson Lowe and Denzil Lloyd Wells. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Lee Morrison. Calvin is survived by his wife, Mary A. Shay Wells, whom he married March 22, 1963, and children, Belinda Rae Wells Trent and her husband Everett of Irvine, Jonathan Ray Wells, Kenneth Ray Wells, Michael Wells, Alberta Lawhorn Wells, and Patricia Lawhorn Wells. Other survivors include grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, and Allie Bortles, Matthew Trent, Erica, Jacob, and Connor Stafford, and Brooklyn, Kara, and McKenzie Barker; great grandchildren, Violet Rae Bortles, Landon and Dalton Trent, and a baby to be born in September; as well as two sisters, Jean Wells of Winter Haven, Florida, and Myrtle Catherine White of South Point, Ohio. Calvin was a truck driver for 25 years. He enjoyed motorcycling with the Wholly Rollers, spending special times with the grandchildren, and always loved 'spoiling' the youngest baby. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Randy Binion and Allen Wells officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodsbend Cemetery in Morgan County. Pallbearers: Matthew Bortles, Michael Bortles, Donovan Jackson, Justin Oliver, Matthew Wilburn, Everett Trent.
