Calvin H. Utterback, age 85, of Jones Ridge, Clearfield, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born January 26, 1930, at Paragon, in Rowan County, a son of Warren Powell Utterback and Lida Mae Alfrey Utterback. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Majal Eloise Carter Utterback, who passed away January 5, 2002. Calvin is survived by one son, Roger Utterback and Sheryl of Clearfield; one daughter, Vanessa Cooper and Bobby of Morehead; three grandchildren, Tanner Utterback, Brandi Barton and Brittani Cooper; and one great granddaughter, Sophie Barton. Other survivors include one brother, Norman Utterback of Morehead; one sister, Betty Faye Perry of Morehead; and numerous extended family members and friends. Calvin had been a self-employed truck driver and a former employee of the Rowan County Road Department. He also raised tobacco and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Slab Camp Christian Church and Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654. Masonic services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2015, by Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Moore, Rev. Carlos Bowman, and Rev. Larry Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
