Calvin D. Flora, age 73, of Ringos Grange City Road, Hillsboro, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, at his residence. He was born at McGregor Place in Hillsboro on November 1, 1943, a son of the late Carl Thomas and Helen Gray Flora. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilson "Buck" Claypool and Charles "Bo" Harmon; and one sister, Ruby Flora Kissick. He is survived by one daughter, Billie Lynn Fryman, and one grandson, Caleb Reagan Flora, both of Hillsboro; one brother, Bobby (Barbara) Flora of Colfax; two sisters, Betty Flora (Stewart) Muir of Georgetown and Bonnie Flora (David) Earlywine of Flemingsburg; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Calvin was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country from 1967-68 during the Vietnam War. He was also a farmer and former Morehead Tobacco Warehouse employee. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017, at the Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Colfax with full military honors by W.N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
