C. Lance Carter, age 48, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012, at the University of Louisville Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Born June 3, 1963, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Lance spent all of his life in Morehead. He was a former employee of J. C. Wells & Sons, Inc., and enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns and knives, and watching all sports on television. An avid U.K. Wildcats fan, Lance was a longtime basketball season ticket holder. Lance is survived by his mother, Dean Wells Carter; one sister, Milly Moore and husband Barry of Concord, North Carolina; two brothers, Troy Carter and wife Shamarie of Georgetown, Kentucky, and John Carter of Morehead, Kentucky; three nieces, Shelby, Tori, and Taryn Carter; and one nephew, Chasz Carter. Lance is also survived by his stepmother, Catherine -Cookie- Crawford, and many devoted caregivers through the years, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation is 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with A Celebration of Life to be held at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Winston McClurg and special singers. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to S.T.A.R.
