Obituary

Burnell Clay Blair, age 77, of Morehead, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, at the V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. Born October 6, 1939, at Blaze, Kentucky, in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Cletus and Opal Brewer Blair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rua Caudill Blair, who passed away February 14, 1985, and three brothers, Denvil, Charles, and Donald Blair. He is survived by one son, Julius Clay Blair of Tipp City, Ohio; one daughter, Janet Leah Ridley of Lexington; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one sister, Zola Mills of Kettering, Ohio; extended family and friends. Mr. Blair served in the U.S. Army and was a former chef at the Phoenix Hotel in Lexington. For a number of years, he enjoyed farming activities at his farm in Elliottville. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Legion members will also serve as pallbearers. Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead is caring for arrangements.
