Brenda "Jean" Sloan Hunt, age 70, of Rodburn Hollow Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at her residence. Born July 19, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Vercil "Did" and Lornelle Brown Sloan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysus "Buck" Hunt, and a brother, Rickie Lee Sloan. Jean is survived by one daughter, Brenda Wilson and Randy of Sandy Hook; one son, Vercil "Vern" Hunt of Morehead; two grandchildren, Kala Messer and Rick and Jordan Wilson and Shayla Adkins; and one great grandson, Sawyer "Sawbug" Messer. Other survivors include four sisters, Colleen Kidd and Ed, Vicky Kidd and Alvin, Sharon Trent and Gary, Teresa Williams and Forest, all of Morehead; four brothers, David Sloan and Kay, Mickie Sloan and Carol, and Dean Sloan, all of Morehead and Donnie "Dale" Sloan of Dayton, Ohio; extended family and special friend, Kimberly Howard Adkins. Jean was a Christian and enjoyed attending church when she was able. Her life was her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandson. She loved the annual "Mother-Daughter" vacation to Pigeon Forge or Lake Cumberland, camping and fishing, and taking care of people. When she owned and operated the Elliottville Diner, she had several benefits to help people in need. Jean will be sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Quesinberry Cemetery Two on Quesinberry Road. Pallbearers: Jeff Porter, Dean Sloan, Anthony Jessie, Rick Messer, Brian Williams, Nathan Williams. Honorary pallbearers: Jordan Wilson, Vern Hunt, Randy Wilson, Sawyer "Sawbug" Messer, Brandon "Bubbo" Trent. Visitation is noon to 2:30 p. m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
