Brenda Joyce Branham Blanton, age 82, of Cranston Road, Morehead, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, at St Claire Regional Medical Center.

Born January 21, 1940, in Paintsville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Terry Branham and Thelma Cordell Ratliff.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Fred Blanton, in 2016; two sisters, Mary Lou McGarey and Ella Mae Evans; and eleven half brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Terry Plank and husband Rodney, and one son, Emmett (Bill) Blanton and wife Pat, all of Morehead; three grandchildren, Cody Plank and wife Marsha and Carson Plank, all of Morehead and  Lynsey Cantrell and husband Bobby of Louisa; six great grandchildren, Ava Grace, Alyson Elizabeth, Asher Lucas, Roslyn Rey, Oliver Wilson and Evelyn Adele; many nieces and nephews including Linda Pat Hogge of Morehead, Cindy Poole of Largo, Florida, and Brent Evans of Salt Lick, as well as many other extended family and friends.

Brenda worked for 10 years for Orbie Rivers and Larry Blair CPA offices and Harold White Lumber for over 40 years.  She loved attending lunch with her classmates of 1957 from Morehead High School which she called the lunch bunch.  She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and talking about history and family. She loved visits from family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

A graveside service will follow at 12 noon Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Evans Cemetery (8545 Cranston Road, Morehead, KY 40351) with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.
