Brenda Kay Benson, age 60, of Boardwalk, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008, due to a car accident. Brenda was born July 8, 1947, in Canton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Royal Mason Benson and Pearl Opal Thomas Benson. Brenda was raised by an aunt, Deloris Benson, who was her adoptive mother. Brenda-s husband, Roy Adkins, preceded her in death on March 3, 2000. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Annette Hines; three grandchildren, Alisha Adkins, Luke Adkins, and Colin Wilder, all of Morehead, Kentucky; her adoptive mother, Deloris Benson, and a half sister, Melanie Forsee, both of Sunbury, Ohio. Brenda also leaves behind several special friends and neighbors. Brenda was a 1994 graduate of Morehead State University with a bachelor-s degree in social work. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She attended the Cathedral of Praise in Morehead. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Scott Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in the Jennings Cemetery at Lower Oak Grove in Rowan County. Pallbearers will be Sammy Hall, Dena Hall, Luke Adkins, Colin Wilder, Terry Lewis, Teddy Johnson, and Clifford Jent. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
