Bonnie Lou Rose, age 64, of Elliott County, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at her home, after a battle with cancer.
Born May 9, 1957, in Sandy Hook, she was a daughter of the late Earnest William Rose and Grace Lyon Rose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmon Rose, Vernon Rose, Leonard Rose, and Paul Rose, and one sister, Mary Ann Lemasters.
She is survived by two brothers, Roy (Deloris) Rose and Jerry (Stephanie)Rose; one sister, Leeda (Colin) Cox, all of Olive Hill; three sisters-in-law, Betty Rose, Sharon Rose, and Carol Rose Hester; a special friend, Lucy Horton; many nieces and nephews; a special niece that Bonnie loved so well, Jayla Rose; and her cemetery family.
Bonnie was currently the superintendent at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery North East in Grayson, where she had worked since September 1, 2010. She took great pride in her work, especially assuring each veteran received a respectful service.
She was a Christian for 45 years and was of the Baptist faith. Bonnie enjoyed taking trips to the creek, feeding her cattle, cutting wood, weedeating, listening to Bluegrass music, caring for her flowers, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Bonnie will be remembered with love and greatly missed.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Clark Cemetery in Elliott County with Brother Timmy Porter officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
