Obituary

Bonita Jo Fannin Gregory, age 56, of Harris Lane, Hillsboro, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. She was born June 21, 1957, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, a daughter of Eva Skaggs Fannin of Sandy Hook, and Ernest Herman Fannin, who passed away February 12, 2014. One son, Samuel Edward Gregory, also preceded her in death on October 5, 2002. Besides her mother, Bonita is survived by her husband of 33 years, Larry Gregory; two daughters, Angela Gregory and Fina Fatty of Lexington and Amber Gregory Blankenbeckler and Kevin of Olive Hill; one stepson, Chris Castetter of North Vernon, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Logan Derossett, Konner Fatty, Hunter, Ethan, and Abigail Castetter, Bradley Wagoner, and Andrew Blankenbeckler. Also surviving are two brothers, Arthur Earnest Fannin and Renee of Sandy Hook, David Cline Fannin and Jennifer of Paris, Tennessee; three sisters, Carole Tackett and Ricky of Grayson, Cathy Fuqua and Hal of Murray, Connie Mae Cassidy and Allen of London; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, other relatives, and friends. A 1976 graduate of Elliott County High School, Bonita was an avid reader and especially enjoyed Amish publications. She also enjoyed camping with her family and playing Scrabble, but most of all she enjoyed caring for others, not only her own family, but extended family and even strangers. Her loving and caring presence will be missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Little Mary Church with Elder Junior Ruggles, Elder Lonnie Gregory and Brother Justin Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Mary Cemetery. Pallbearers: Kevin Blankenbeckler, Fina Fatty, Greg Derossett, Dewayne Gregory, Derek Fannin, and Chris Castetter. Honorary pallbearers: Logan Derosssett and Konner Fatty Visitation is 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Friday, February 21, 2014, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., Northcutt & Son Funeral: Saturday, February 22, 2014, 1 p.m., Little Mary Church Interment: Little Mary Cemetery
