Bobby Vernon Pennington, age 70, of Seas Branch Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at his residence. Born October 26, 1939, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Zules -Dude- and Audrey Slone Pennington. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Shelby White, and three brothers, Roger Pennington and twins Timmy and Tommy Pennington. He is survived by two daughters, Kim Hale of Lexington, Kentucky, and Vicki Fisher and husband Daniel of Brooksville, Kentucky; two sons, Tony Pennington of Morehead, Kentucky, and Brent Pennington Gregory and wife Tina of Morehead, Kentucky; six grandsons, Allie White Jr., Jeramy Hale, Derrik Hale, and Nathan Pennington, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and Tanner Fisher and Tad Fisher, both of Brooksville, Kentucky; one step grandson, Blake Branham of Morehead, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Brady White and Emma Hale; and the mother of his children, Zelda Venus Pennington Gregory. Other survivors include one sister, Betty Jean Barker of Morehead, Kentucky; five brothers, Billy Pennington and wife Joyce, Ronald Pennington, Gary Jay Pennington and wife Joann, Jack Pennington and wife Diana, and Greg Pennington, all of Morehead, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Bobby was a heavy equipment operator and former employee of Ruth Brothers and Jackson Builders. He retired from Smith Contractors, Inc. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery. Pallbearers: Allie White, Jr., Derrik Hale, Nathan Pennington, Darin Pennington, Terry Barker, Steve Barker, and Jamie Pennington.
