Bobby Clayton Jones, age 67, of Maysville Road, Mt. Sterling, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born February 26, 1950, in Bath County, a son of the late John Thomas Jones and Ida Mae Parker Jones. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tim Jones; grandson, T. C. Jones; sister, Lillian Clem; brothers, Leonard (Red) Jones and John Thomas Jones; and niece, Nikki Jo Jones. He is survived by two daughters, Tina (Brandon) Baker of Jeffersonville and Ashley (Jordan) McVey of Sharpsburg, three granddaughters, Amanda Frye of Jeffersonville, Makayla McVey and Khloe McVey, both of Sharpsburg; two grandsons, Braydon Baker of Jeffersonville and Zachery McVey of Sharpsburg; three brothers, Moreland Junior Jones (Janice) of Mt. Sterling, George Jones of Paris, Teddy Jones (Ada) of Jeffersonville; two sisters, Ann Prater (Mike) of Jeffersonville and Conny Risner (Dale) of Mt. Sterling; and special daughter-in-law, Deanna Jones Taulbee of Jeffersonville. Bobby was a farmer and factory worker, owned and operated B.J. Pool Hall in North Middletown, and delivered the Lexington Herald-Leader for more than 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his horses. Bobby was a member of John Saw Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Hedrick Community Church with Randall Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Knox Hill Cemetery in Salt Lick. Pallbearers: Travis Ginter, Chris Jones, Jon Jones, Michael Prater, Michael Jones, Seth Jones, Jason Lawson, Terry Lawson. Honorary pallbearers: Colton Jones, Mike Jones, Greg Jones, Brian Jones, Steve Lane, Jack Blizzard, Gary Hofstetter. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Hedrick Community Church, 5302 Old Sand Road, Salt Lick, KY 40371. Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead is caring for arrangements.
