Bobbie Jean
(Underwood) Baldridge
May 4, 1936 — May 11, 2024
Bobbie Jean (Underwood) Baldridge, 88, of Nichols Branch, Clearfield, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born May 4, 1936, in Carter County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of Stanley C. and Goldie Mae (Carter) Underwood. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth Underwood, and an infant daughter, Karen Gay Baldridge.
Bobbie is survived by her husband of nearly 69 years, Medford C. Baldridge; daughters, H. Gale (Scott) Templeton and Sharon Sue (Danny) Reynolds, both of Morehead; grandson, Christopher Michael Hrivnak of St. Charles, Missouri; sister, Emilie Lewis of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and loving nieces and nephews.
Bobbie was a born-again Christian and a member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God. She served in many valuable capacities in the church.
She graduated Carter High School in 1954 and attended Morehead Teachers College. She married Medford C. Baldridge on September 8, 1955, and they lived in Mansfield, Ohio. She worked and retired from the United Telephone Company of Ohio after serving 34 years as an operator and manager. She and Medford retired to Morehead in 1989 and greatly enjoyed their retirement by traveling and serving in the church.
Bobbie and Medford traveled the United States extensively, particularly western states and national parks. They visited Yellowstone many times, last visiting with their daughters and sons-in-law in 2019.
Bobbie loved her family first and foremost and provided consistent and loving support to her husband, daughters, and grandson. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, sewing, and flower gardening.
She had many special friends through the years through her work and church. The family would especially like to thank Shannon Howard and Sonya Gregory for taking extra special care of her these past few years.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Saundra Nathanson and Rev. Johnny Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery with Danny Reynolds, Charlie Stamm, Donny Reynolds, Earl Reynolds, Jr., Matthew Reynolds, and Chris Hrivnak serving as pallbearers.
