Blane Kissick, age 78, of 801 North, Morehead, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born February 18, 1937, in Farmers, he was a son of the late Dewey Jackson and Lula Curtis Kissick. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Kissick, and one granddaughter, Savannah Jo Kissick, who passed away January 1, 2009. Blane is survived by his wife of 52 years, Regina Burton Kissick, whom he married October 19, 1963, one son, Sam (Lynn) Kissick, and two daughters, Kathy (Tim) Copher and Amy (Joe) Carter, all of Morehead; as well as three grandchildren, Caralyne Carter, Makenzie Kissick, and Lydia Copher; one step granddaughter, Tierra Blevins; one great granddaughter, Mallorie Hunt; and one step great granddaughter, Alexandria Blevins. He is also survived by one uncle, Joe Curtis of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Gayle Slaughter of Abilene, Texas. Blane retired from Sealmaster in 1997 after 23 years of service in Shipping and Receiving. He was formerly a maintenance employee at Morehead State University and a school bus driver for the Rowan County Board of Education. He was a member of Clearfield Baptist Church. Blane loved the Lord, his family, especially his grandchildren, and his beloved pets. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, gardening, U.K. basketball, and Ale 8s. He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, at the Clearfield Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Parr officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Sam Kissick, Tim Copher, Joe Carter, Brady Blevins, David Johnson, Jerry Wheeless, Lee Depuy, Steve Strunk and Josh Trent. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clearfield Baptist Church, P.O.
