Billy Eugene Buckler, age 68, of Clearfield, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 13, 1956, in Rowan County, he is the son of Eugene "Gene" Buckler and the late Elizabeth "Libby" Kidd Buckler.
In addition to his father, Billy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lori Plank Buckler; two daughters, Andrea (Derek) Fannin of Clearfield and Bethany (Jason) Patrick of Morehead; three special grandchildren he dearly loved and praised, Brayden Williams, Braxton Skaggs, and Abigail King.
Other survivors include three brothers, Jeffery (Brenda) Buckler of Clearfield, Timothy (Kathy) Buckler of Morehead, and Larry Buckler of Tennessee; one sister, Gail Buckler Flora of Clearfield; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
He retired from the State Highway Department after 27 years of dedicated service and was also a self-employed small engine repairman for many years. Billy was a Jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed fixing all sorts of things. He was of the Christian faith.
Billy loved fabricating and crafting and enjoyed the outdoors, farming, camping, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jeff Buckler, Timmy Buckler, Brayden Williams, Braxton Skaggs, Austin Whittaker, and Jordan Whittaker. Honorary pallbearers: Derek Fannin and Jason Patrick.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
