Billie Jo Matthews Jent, age 57, of Cold Springs Hollow, Morehead, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at her residence. She was born November 12, 1957, in Morgan County, daughter of the late Carl Vernon and Sarah Hazel Johnson Matthews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gregory 'Greg' Scott Jent; one son-in-law, Daniel Reece Hampton; one grandson; one great granddaughter; nine sisters, Susie Matthews, Jean Moore, Lois Jenkins, Linda McVey, Kathy Richardson, Beulah Wagoner, Sharlene Rowe, Alene Ison, and Opal Hunter; and one brother, Vernon Matthews. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Delmer Curtis Jent, whom she married May 11, 1980; four daughters, Rhonda Jo Hampton of Morehead, Stephanie Renea (Dexter) Kitchen of Sandy Hook, Tina Jent of Morehead, and Tiffany Jent (Richie) Jackson of Morehead; one son, Curtis Wayne (Missy) Jent of Morehead; 17 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and dear friend and confidant for many years, Leatha Kitchen of Sandy Hook. Also surviving are three brothers, Carl Vernon Matthews, Jr., of Grayson, Earl David (Donna) Matthews of Flatwoods and Michael Keith Matthews of Richmond; one sister, Shirley Ann (William) Ison of Naples, Florida; special friends, Renita Howard and Tammy Owens; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and many friends. Billie was a cosmetologist for many years and owned and operated Billie's Beauty Shop in Morehead. She was of the Apostolic faith and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel with Brother Arnold Ison and Brother Clyde Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Jent Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ethan Jent, Richie Jackson, Dexter Brickey, Zach Scaggs, Jeff Howard, and Joshua Jent.
