Billie Jo Hackney Lowry, 53, of Washington Circle, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at her home.

Born October 7, 1971, in Oroville, California, she was the daughter of the late William Dale Hackney and Mary Geraldine Cox Hackney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lowry, who passed on March 7, 1994, and by her brother, Rieco Jarvis.

Billie Jo is survived by her children: Christopher Lowry (Rebecca Drake) of Owingsville, Jaydon Erwin of Morehead, Michaela Lowry Staten (Bryan) of Winchester, and Tyler Erwin (Alisha) of Owingsville; as well as six beloved grandchildren, Storey Lowry, Raiya Lowry, Atticus Lowry, Deanna Staten, Alex Erwin, and Wyatt Erwin. She is also survived by her fiancé, James Erwin of Olive Hill; her sisters, Tina Faye York of Morehead, Brenda Welch of Eugene, Oregon, and Patricia Kornegay of Osceola, Missouri; her brother, Earl Jarvis of Osceola, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.

A graduate of Morehead State University with a bachelor's degree in social work, Billie Jo dedicated part of her career as a counselor at a drug rehabilitation center in Morehead, where her compassion touched many lives. She loved animals—especially her dogs and cat—found joy in gardening, and enjoyed riding 4-wheelers. Known for her generous spirit, she was always willing to help anyone in need and truly had a heart that could never say "no."

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
