Bill Dave Stephens, age 88, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Elliott County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook.

Born September 28, 1934, in Ivel, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Bill and Bird Weddington Stephens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two sons, Dwaine Stephens of Hillsboro and Leroy Stephens of Ashland; five grandchildren. Amanda (Adam) Hicks of St. Augustine, Florida, Bethany Stephens of Flatwoods, Kortney Stephens of Greenup, Brad Stephens of Berea, and Sarah Stephens of Ashland; 10 great grandchildren; a half-sister, Jenny Stephens of Louisa; several nieces and nephews; and a special neighbor, Shawna Jolly Reid of Hillsboro.

Bill was a lifelong farmer, who truly enjoyed laboring every day. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held 5 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Brother Willie Skaggs, Jr. officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post 126 at the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Lower Rock Lick Enterprise Baptist Church, 1786 Story Branch Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
