Obituary

Beulah Evelyn Rogers Manley, age 95, of Mt. Sterling, KY, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling after a brief illness.

She was born on March 17, 1928, in Mt. Sterling, KY, to the late Charles F. and Isora Wills Rogers. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David "Cornbread" Manley; sisters Geneva Gibbs and Mattie Lou Bartley; and brother Carl Rogers.

Beulah is survived by her daughter, Vicki Latimer, and son-in-law Jim Latimer (whom she thought of as a son) of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren Lindsay (Jason Jackson), Elizabeth, Dana, and Alex Latimer; and great-granddaughter Hagen Latimer.

She is also survived by two sisters Lela Johnson and husband Bill and Jean Dale, all of Mt. Sterling; brother Bill Rogers of Salt Lick; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

At an early age, she traveled and worked before meeting her husband of 51 years and was a bookkeeper at Cowden's Manufacturing for 30 years. Beulah was an amazing cook, famous for her butterscotch pie and fried chicken. She loved puzzles and was a gifted and proud gardener – surprising everyone with her ability to get even the most difficult plants to thrive.

She had a special relationship with her siblings and enjoyed country drives with her sisters and phone calls with her brother. She was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church and read her Bible every morning.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6. 2023, at Machpelah Cemetery with Bro. Lloyd Latimer officiating.  Burial will follow with family and close friends serving as pallbearers.

Arrangements under the direction of Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
