Betty Jane Stewart Alderman, age 91, of Water Avenue, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born July 13, 1931, in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Henry Stewart and Myrtle Grim Stewart.  Betty had one sister, Mary Lou Rodriguez of Kona, Hawaii.

Earl H. Alderman, Betty's devoted husband of 64 years, went to be with the Lord July 29, 2014.

She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including three sons and their wives, Earl Howard Alderman, Jr. and Janet of Morehead, David Neil Alderman of Wallingford, Michael Thomas Alderman and Kris of Morehead; 9 precious grandchildren, Kerry Ann Murphy, Kimberly Lynn Armstrong, Amanda Jane Scott, Abby Suzanne Ginter, Carmen Sarina Alderman, Michael Tyler Alderman, Chase Edward Alderman, Ryan David Alderman, and Sean Michael Alderman; and 17 beloved great grandchildren.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A member of Morehead and Johnson First Church of God, she was a former Sunday school teacher and actively involved for more than twenty years with youth and children's programs. Earl also helped with the programs and drove the church bus.  Church families, as well as community members, were often found at the Alderman home enjoying the swimming pool, food, and fellowship. Children were always very special to Betty. She was a GTE telephone operator and enjoyed camping, quilting, and crafting.  Her greatest joy, however, was her family and friends who will miss her greatly and remember her with love always.

At her request, graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Brown Cemetery with the Rev. Ben Furman officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Pallbearers will be Ty Alderman, Chase Alderman, Shannon Murphy, Chase Armstrong, Chris Ginter, Sean Alderman and Ryan Alderman
