Obituary

Betty Ruth Sparks Stacy, age 74, of Barn Branch Road, Morehead, Kentucky, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 14, 2008. She was born May 12, 1934, in Lewis County, Kentucky, to the late Clifton Bruce and Callie May Scott Sparks. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Loretta Stacy; seven sisters, Dorothy Dunaway, Geneva Stamm, Margaret McCleese, Flora Henry, Nora Hazelwood, Vivian Stidham, and Flossie Cooper; and three brothers, Wayne, Walter, and Tilman Sparks. Betty is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jimmie Allen Stacy; two sons, Rocky Stacy and wife Terri of Morehead, Kentucky, and Bob Shay and wife Debbie of Hillsboro, Kentucky; one daughter, Callie Wagoner and husband Rick of Hillsboro, Kentucky; and five grandchildren, Casey Shay, Sara Shay, Kristen Stacy, Jonathan Stacy, and Zack Wagoner. Also surviving are two sisters, Francis Brown of Anderson, South Carolina, and Velma Hyrne and husband Warren of Wakeman, Ohio; and two brothers, George Sparks of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Johnnie Sparks and wife Joyce of Vanceburg, Kentucky. Betty was a homemaker, former factory worker, and farmer. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening. She was a member of the Adams-Plank Enterprise Baptist Church. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008, at Adams-Plank Enterprise Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlos Bowman, Rev. Jim Porter and Rev. Greg Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Adams-Plank Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Stacy, Casey Shay, Randy McCleese, Marty McCleese, Shorty Stidham, Paul Smith, Woody Stacy and Dale Estep. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Wednesday, October 15, 2008, after 3 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, October 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. Interment: Adams - Plank Cemetery
