Betty Jo Mabry Purnell, age 77, of Amanda Lane, Clearfield, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born December 12, 1940, she was a daughter of the late David Willie and Magelean Smedley Mabry. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Lee Mabry and Wilson Junior Mabry; three infant brothers; one infant sister; and a daughter, Annette Roberts. She is survived by one son, Wendell Purnell and wife Ramona of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Cody Purnell and Amanda Bolton and husband Bryan, of Clearfield, and Eric Roberts of Orlando, Florida; and one great granddaughter, Bailey Bolton. Other survivors include two brothers, Franklin Mabry and Glennis Mabry, of Clearfield; one sister, Lottie Richardson of Clearfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. She was a former employee of The Spinning Wheel fabric store and was a caregiver who enjoyed helping others. She loved to read and enjoyed painting, crocheting, and woodworking. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Crix Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Bowman officiating. Pallbearers: Cody Purnell, Bryan Bolton, Jeff Richardson, Larry Thomas, Eric Roberts, Franklin Mabry, and Glennis Mabry.
