Obituary

Betty Jo Lyons Fultz, age 83, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015, at her residence. She was born September 10, 1931, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Charlie B. and Ollie B. Mabry Lyons. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lowell Lyons, Carl Lyons, and Charles Rayburn Lyons, and one sister, Ruby Faye Buck. Her husband of 58 years, William (Bill) Fultz, whom she married June 27, 1951, preceded her in death on August 11, 2009. Betty is survived by two sons and their wives, Paul and Linda Fultz of Morehead and Donnie and Beth Fultz of Louisville; three grandchildren, Whitney Fultz, Jeff Fultz, and Michael Fultz; and several nieces and nephews. Other survivors include extended family, many friends, and dedicated caregivers, Sonya Gregory, Joyce Lewis, and Joann Adkins. Betty was a homemaker, a 35-year employee of Allen's IGA, and a member of Johnson First Church of God. Betty was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed bowling, especially with her co-workers at IGA. She was loved by all and will be sadly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Pennington and the Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Mabry Cemetery on Knipp Road. Pallbearers will be Michael Fultz, Jeff Fultz, Bill Buck, Dale Davis, Bobby Patrick, Doug Morgan, Shane Phelps, and Dusty Phelps. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Claire Hospice, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351.
