Bertha Mae Ferguson Gearhart, age 75, of Maher Drive, Morehead, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born January 7, 1940, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Powell and Thelma Williams Ferguson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred L. Gearhart; one son, Lowell Ray Gearhart; one sister, Dorthy Gearhart; and one brother, Herbert R. Ferguson. She is survived by two sons, Lorne W. Gearhart and wife Vanessa of Globe and Richard Gearhart of Morehead; one sister, Nella Butler of Collman, Alabama; five grandchildren, Angela Gearhart, Vanna Campion, Ericka Gearhart, Haley Gearhart, and Isabella Gearhart; and six great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Skyler, Layla, Tristan, Audrianna, and Emily. Mrs. Gearhart was a devoted homemaker and mother who loved her family dearly. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Gearhart Cemetery in Carter County. Visitation is Monday, May 11, 2015, from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
