Bernie Lee Eplin, age 51, of Wellington, Kentucky, was born January 28, 1973, in Pikeville, Kentucky, and went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2024, at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his father, Buster Lee Eplin; his paternal grandparents, Becky and Dan Eplin; and his maternal grandparents, Lorene and Emmitt Hamilton, Jr., all of Betsy Layne, Kentucky
Bernie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Julia Sesco Eplin; his mother, Melinda Kay Hamilton Eplin; one sister, Amanda Lorene Eplin (Tony); a nephew, Andrew Jacob Prater; two nieces, Molly Lorene Ousley and Chloe Sesco; mother-in-law, Saundra Coleman; father-in-law, Merlin Sesco, Jr. (Joan); brother-in-law, Nathan Sesco (Hannah); an uncle, Marty Hamilton; other extended relatives; numerous friends; and his very close church family.
Bernie and Julie were well known in the area where they owned and operated Cave Run Overhead Doors in Farmers, Kentucky, for more than 20 years. He was a very active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Frenchburg for 15 years and especially enjoyed his role as youth director. A friend to everyone he met, Bernie's favorite passions in life were playing sports for Betsy Layne High School, cars, motorcycles, and singing.
Bernie will be remembered for his loving personality and his sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Rhodes officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church, 926 KY Hwy 36, Frenchburg, KY 40322.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Beulah Land Bible Camp, c/o Bethel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 141, Frenchburg, KY 40322.
Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
