Bernard Cross, age 83, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville, Indiana. Born February 3, 1929, in Monticello, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William H. and Nannie Bell Cross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Cross. Bernard is survived by his wife, Lela Black Cross, whom he married July 30, 1955; five daughters, Debra Jonges of Naples, Florida, Linda Bostic, Kandis Rastbichler, and Lindsey Garnell, all of Richmond, Indiana, and Donna Saidi of Sarasota, Florida; one son, Tim Cross of Sarasota Florida; eight grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Other survivors include four brothers, Lyle Cross of Monticello, Kentucky, William Cross of Somerset, Kentucky, Jay Cross of Albany, Kentucky, and Arthur Cross of Oxford, Ohio; one sister, Faye Stinson of Monticello, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends. Mr. Cross was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Belden Corporation in Richmond. He was a member of Richmond Masonic Lodge No. 196 and was of the protestant faith. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jack Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Cemetery at Sharkey with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Friday, April 20, 2012, from 3 - 8 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 1 p.m. Interment: Black Cemetery at Sharkey
