Beecher Adkins, age 81, of Heritage Place, Morehead, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born July 29, 1933, in Morgan County, a son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth Elliott Adkins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ivin Adkins, Sr., Maxie Adkins, Avery Adkins, and Curt Adkins, and two sisters, Ithel Minix and Eva Adkins. His wife, Joan Ann Wilcox Adkins, passed away April 25, 2005. Beecher is survived by one brother, Garland Adkins of Sandy Hook; one sister, Arlene Walton of Ezel; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. Mr. Adkins was a self-employed truck driver and heavy equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dean Lewis and the Rev. Eugene Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
