Obituary

Bearl Ray Jones, age 68, of Spruce Street, Morehead, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, at his residence. Born February 18, 1949, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Willie and Anna Lewis Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Lee Jones Black, and one brother, Lowell Gene Jones. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice Sergent Jones; two sons, Kenny Ray Jones of Morehead, and Shawn Byron Jones and wife Angela of Richmond; one grandson, Dylan Tyler Jones; and one great granddaughter, Nevaeh Faith Jones. Other survivors include one brother, Willie Kenneth Jones of May's Lick; one sister, Loretta Weaver of Wallingford; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Bearl was a self-employed construction worker and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and walking through the woods. Funerals services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor James DeAtley and Pastor Jared DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Pallbearers: Kenny Jones, Shawn Jones, Dylan Jones, Ray Weaver, Ashton Weaver, Scott Wallace. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
