Barry Phillip Hinton, age 63, of Vincent Hollow, Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at his residence. He was born January 14, 1951, in Carter County, a son of the late George and Susie Jennings Hinton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Susie Lynn Hinton; four brothers, Earsel Leroy, Billy Gallen, Charles Eugene and Keith Monroe Hinton; five infant siblings; and his daughter, Kayla Renee Hinton, who passed away January 14, 2009. Barry is survived by his wife, Veronica Rivers Hinton, whom he wed May 17, 1980; one son, Phillip Hinton, II and two grandsons, Dominic Hinton and Collin Hinton, all of Olive Hill. Other survivors include two brothers, Karl Marx Hinton of Haldeman, Vaughn Allen Hinton of Soldier; three sisters, Monie Hinton Sparks and Marie Hinton Kidd, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Leta Hinton Caudill of Hide-A-Way, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Barry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. In 2011, he retired as a foreman from CSX Railroad after 30 years of service. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in the Hinton Cemetery on Open Fork Road with military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Jeff Rivers, James Rivers, Bob Rivers, Dennis Sparks, Donnie Kidd, and Clifford Logan. Visitation is 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
