Barbara Diane Pitzer Kissick, age 76, of Lower Licking Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born September 19, 1936, in Portland, Indiana, a daughter of the late Walter E. Pitzer and Ethel Marie Bancroft Pitzer. Barbara is survived by her husband, Homer N. Kissick, whom she wed December 20, 1953; two daughters, Elizabeth Marie Pifer of Bridgeport, West Virginia, and Susan Anette Kovach of Pennsylvania; one son, Rick Lee Kissick, of Selma, Indiana; one brother, Walter Pitzer, Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Kissick was a teacher for ten years in Swissvale, Pennsylvania, and Muncie, Indiana. An accomplished seamstress, Barbara specialized in wedding gowns, baby dedication dresses, prom dresses, and other special events attire. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Barbara was a member of the Morehead Apostolic Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2012, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Binion officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Grange City. Pallbearers: Gary Spurlock, Mason Manning, Herman Shelley, Carl Kissick, Gale Burke, and Bryan Burke. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
