It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Slone Mabry announces her sudden passing on July 3, 2025, surrounded by her daughters, at the age of 71. A resident of Morehead for most of her life, she lived her last ten years lovingly cared for by her daughter Melissa in Lexington.

Born September 27, 1953, in Elliottville, Kentucky, Barb was a daughter of the late Edward "Ted" Slone and Amanda DeHart Slone. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 42 years, Emil Mabry, on January 11, 2014, and three sisters, Karen DeHart, Michelle Slone, and Bernice Willoughby.

She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Mabry (Jon) of Carter County, Kentucky, Melissa Mabry Keller (Jameson) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Barbara Mabry Everman (Michael) of Jessamine County, Kentucky; three brothers, Donnie Slone, Robert Slone and Roy Slone, and two sisters, Geraldine Lowe and Patricia Johnson, all of Rowan County, Kentucky.  She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, as well as a multitude of cherished pets.

Barb was a dedicated wife and mother who loved spending time with family and her beloved pets.  She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, shopping, and feeding wildlife.  Barb spread joy everywhere she went, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Crix Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY.
