Barbara Wallace Black, age 69, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born January 24, 1945, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Elick and Sarah Hicks Wallace. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Lee Black; a grandson, Jason Nathaniel Donathan; five brothers, Chalmer, Sylvan, Melvin, William and Lloyd; and three sisters, Bessie, Alberta, and Betty Jean. Barbara is survived by her husband, Charles Douglas Black, whom she married April 22, 1972; three sons, John D. Donathan and Audrey of Clearfield, Robert Matthew Black of Clearfield, and Dallas Ray Daniel Black of Morehead; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Black and Charles Thompson of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, William R. Donathan, Elizabeth A. Donathan, Shakayle Y. Raney, John-Luke Perry, Rita-Mae Samuels, and David Lee Donathan; and seven great grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, Clarence Wallace of Irvine and Homer Wallace of Farmers; one sister, Margaret Mynhier of Morehead; extended family; and friends. Barbara was the owner of the Federated Tax Service in Morehead from 1979 to 2006. She was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Owingsville Ward, 1954 KY Hwy. 36, Owingsville, with elders of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Cemetery on Ramey Ridge Road. Pallbearers: Dallas Black, John D. Donathan, Robert Black, William R. Donathan, John Luke Perry, and David Lee Donathan. Honorary pallbearers: Jeffrey Wallace, Scott Wallace, Jessica Roberts, and Miranda Shavers and members of the church. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Wednesday, October 22, 2014, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, October 23, 2014, at 1 p.m. Interment: Black Cemetery
