B. J. Johnson, age 69, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born August 14, 1946, at Booneville, in Owsley County, a son of the late Bedford and Crystal McIntosh Johnson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Walters Johnson; sister, Edna Trent; brother, Joe Douglas Johnson; and son-in-law, Chris Reddix. B. J. is survived by one daughter, Paula Reddix, and one granddaughter, Dannah Reddix, both of Mt. Sterling; four brothers, Earl Johnson, Ed Johnson, Wally Johnson, and Sam Johnson, and seven sisters, Maggie Clay, Liz Wilson, Susie Young, Bonnie Barnett, Wanda Dieffenbach, Sharon Wilson, and Christine Triplett, all of Montgomery County; special friend, Betty Napier Johnson of Mt. Sterling; and many nieces and nephews. B. J. was a Deputy Jailer at the Montgomery County Regional Jail. He was a Christian and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the Christian Assembly of God with Brother Tommy Evans and Scott Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson-Chambers Cemetery. Pallbearers will be B. J.'s active road crew and Ralph Karsner. Honorary pallbearers will be deputies of Montgomery County Regional Jail. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Christian Assembly of God, 1834 Owingsville Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
