Avis Lykins Kidd, age 80, of Seas Branch Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born August 14, 1935, at Grape Creek, in Salyersville, she was the daughter of the late Ernie and Edna Harvey Lykins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Landon B. Lykins. Avis is survived by her husband, Marvin Kidd, whom she married May 14, 1954; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Robb Mitchell of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and Tammy and Allen Bradley of Morehead; two grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Wells and husband Matt and Kyle Bradley and wife Sarah. Other survivors include a sister, Margie Lykins Farmer of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Ernest Larue Lykins of Peyton, Colorado, and extended family and friends. Mrs. Kidd was a homemaker and for many years cared for other family members. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Known as a wonderful cook, she also enjoyed her flowers, gardening and canning. Avis was a member of the Rowan County Quilt Club, a previous member of the Cave Run Doll Club, and a longtime member of the Brinegar Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Louie Harris and Brother Victor Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Kyle Bradley, Matt Wells, Randy Wagoner, Tim Farmer, Ray Williams, Randy Harris, and Terry Harvey. Visitation is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Sunday, May 1, 2016, 6 to 9 p.m., Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Funeral: Monday, May 2, 2016, 11 a.m., Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel Interment: Brown Cemetery
