Autumn Lynn
Short
Jan 6, 2001 — Jan 14, 2020
Autumn Lynn Short, age 19, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, became an angel in Heaven on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born January 6, 2001, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Autumn is the daughter of Angela Lynn Osborne of Morehead and the late Gary Short, who passed away in April 2012. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gary Wayne Stevens; maternal grandmother, Judy Osborne; and paternal grandmother, Loberta Short.
In addition to her mother, Autumn is survived by one brother, Caleb Short, of Morehead; maternal grandmother, Helen Stevens of Morehead; maternal grandfather, Danny Osborne of Murray; paternal grandfather, Gary Short of Mousie; special aunt, Christin Cook and special uncle, Wayne Stevens of Lexington; an aunt, Alecia Stepler and her husband Matt of Rockford, Illinois; an uncle, Shane Osborne and his wife Teala of Murray, as well as numerous cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Despite the illness that Autumn battled all her life, she touched countless lives. She always had a positive attitude and was "happy all the time," even though she was unable to speak. Autumn's happiness was contagious. She enjoyed school and was currently a senior at Rowan County Senior High School. She would have graduated in May. Watching television was one of Autumn's favorite pastimes—she especially enjoyed Finding Nemo and SpongeBob. Autumn gave much love to family and friends and received more love in return. She will be sadly missed and loving remembered by those whose lives she enriched during her earthly journey.
Autumn's family extends special recognition and thanks to the Rowan County school system teachers and staff for taking care of Autumn since preschool; Dr. Nancy Henly, who provided life-long care with compassion and competency; Dr. David Franz of Cincinnati Children's Hospital for his help along the way; and Angie's co-workers at St. Claire HealthCare who became family for their innumerable acts of kindness.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Fultz Cemetery in Carter County.
Pallbearers: Wayne Stevens, Noah Stevens, Caleb Short, Shawn Thacker, Nick Wright, and Chris Johnson.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351
