Jan 23, 1932 — Nov 3, 2018
Arvel "Junior" Caudill, age 86, of Country Lane, Morehead, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at his home. Born January 23, 1932, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Arvel Caudill and Bessie Dyer Caudill. His wife of 64 years, Ivetta Plank Caudill, preceded him in death on September 11, 2017; one great granddaughter, Josey Starr Murphy, on April 6, 2010; and two sisters, Kay Casto and Lorene Dixon. Junior is survived by three children, Betty "Jo" Murphy (David), Vetta June Wells (Bob), and Zane Ray Caudill (Janet), all of Morehead; four grandsons, Shannon Murphy (Kerri), Kyle Gartin, Casey Caudill, and Bradley Murphy; and one great granddaughter, Princess Zoe Beth Murphy, all of Morehead. Other survivors include one half-brother, Dr. Jerry Wayne Caudill of Campbellsburg, KY; two half-sisters, Debbie Schellenger of Moneta, Virginia, and Sherry Kopp of Orlando, Florida; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Junior was a U.S Army veteran who proudly served his country during the Korean War. He worked at Imperial Cleaners for several years, was a concrete finisher for various construction companies, and retired from Packs, Inc. An outdoorsman, Junior enjoyed all types of hunting-especially squirrel hunting-and dog trading. Gardening was one of his favorite activities, and he loved sharing his home-grown vegetables with family and friends. Junior and Ivetta considered themselves fortunate to have raised their children in the same house where they had lived throughout their 64 years of marriage. Junior attended Johnson Church of God and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ben Furman officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams-Plank Cemetery with full military honors presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Legion members will also serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
