Obituary

Arnold King, age 84, of Rosedale Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at his residence. Born April 12, 1926, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William and Millie Trent King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Talmage Skaggs King. Arnold is survived by his wife, Evelyn Christine Caudill King; one son, Dennis Galen King of Nicholasville, Kentucky; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leona Faye and John Knight of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Gisele and Loren Gilbert of Morehead, Kentucky; one stepson and daughter in law, Tommy and Becky Cains of Morehead, Kentucky; three stepdaughters, Patty Cains of Morehead, Kentucky, Terrie Markwell and husband Johnny of Morehead, Kentucky and Joan Pernell and husband Dennis of Salt Lick, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Wesley Allen Knight, Stephanie Tasha Purvis, Nicholas Andrew Knight, Jessica Lynn King, and Christopher Steven King; four great grandchildren, Lexan Loren Gilbert, Luke Ashton Purvis, Olivia Camille Knight, and Miles Andrew Knight; 10 step grandchildren; and 14 step great grandchildren. Other survivors include one sister, Elsie Howard of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. Arnold served his country in the U.S. Army from 1944 - 1946, was a farmer, and attended the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Vaughn Thornsberry and Rev. Austin Carter officiating. Burial will follow in King Family Cemetery on Rosedale Road with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers will be Wesley Knight, Nicholas Knight, Christopher King, John Knight, Wayne Caudill, and Charles Clark. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Thursday, July 22, 2010, after 4 p.m. Funeral: Friday, July 23, 2010, at 2 p.m. Interment: King Family Cemetery
