Obituary

Arnett Morris, Jr., 82, of Bluestone Road, Morehead, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born October 18, 1931, in Cowen, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Arnett and Agnes Hinkle Morris. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar Morris and Allen Morris, and one sister, Dorothy Jefferies. He is survived by three sons, David B. Morris and wife Kim of Morehead, Jeff Morris and wife Sheryl of Johns Creek, Georgia, and Jimmy Morris and wife Barbara of Summerville, South Carolina; the sons' mother, Shirley Morris of Ripley, West Virginia; one grandson, Riley Morris of Johns Creek, Georgia, and four granddaughters, Lauren Morris of Johns Creek, Georgia, Savannah Morris of Palm Bay, Florida, Ashley Morris of Jersey City, New Jersey; Caroline Morris of Summerville, South Carolina; Other survivors include four sisters and their husbands, Eloise and Howard Williams of Hobart, Indiana, Rosalee and Everett Williams and Wilda and Jim Strine, all of Lake Station, Indiana, Marie and Mert Lawson of Cowen, West Virginia; two brothers, Arnold Morris and Robert Morris of Parkersburg, West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arnett was retired from Sealmaster as Personnel Manager and enjoyed golfing, discussing politics, and watching sports, especially football. He was an avid fan of Rowan County Senior High football. Arnett was a very giving and caring person and loved his sons and family. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Coach Ray Graham and Jim Tom Trent officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Alan Evans, Jimmy Watson, Sam Cross, Kelly Ford, Matt Hamilton, Joel Link and Mike Kash. Visitation is 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rowan County Middle School Football Program, 555 Viking Drive, Morehead, KY 40351 Visitation: Sunday, June 15, 2014, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral: Monday, June 16, 2014, at 1 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
